Antonov-An225

Built in 1988 for the Soviet space programme, the worlds' largest aeroplane made its' first commercial flight in 2002 for Antonov Airlines (and Air Foyle HeavyLift).

Demand for the An-225 exceeded booking capacity, and in 2006 the decision was made to complete the second An-225 which had been mothballed after the cancellation of the Buran space shuttle program. Assembly should be completed by 2008.
